At the receiving end

When Diya was in Bangalore, she had atleast 3 phone devices (all faulty) to play with. She would scream ‘haal’ (read Hello) and imitate busy conversation and walk from one end to another. It became a routine that I stopped paying attention to that.

When I called in-laws place, Meena picked. She was holding Diya. Diya, as usual, wanted the phone to talk. Diya got the receiver and started babbling. I talked to her with affection pouring; she responded with phone reversed and talking on her own. Her voice, her speech sounded very significant to me having been away for more than two weeks. Another two weeks to go.
